Ali Abdou is a recent graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor in Political Science. He is currently studying at the Illinois Media School. He loves to read and watch sports, as well as singing and listening to music. Ali has a little brother who currently is attending college, and lives with his parents in Chicago, while the rest of his family lives back home in Egypt. Ali loves to work out and currently works as an office assistant at an Engineering Consulting Firm.

Ali was born in Cairo, Egypt, and moved to the United States at the age of 2 when his father got a job opportunity in Chicago, and has been here ever since. Growing up, Ali’s parents exposed him to a lot of sports. He has been swimming since he was 4 years old, and was on his swim team and water polo team in high school and college. While swimming for his high school team, they went 27-3 over a span of 4 years, and were undefeated his freshman year. He also played soccer when he was young, and still watches the sport all the time. Ali visits his family back home in Egypt as much as he can to see his grandparents and relatives.

In the future, Ali wants to pursue a career in Sports Broadcasting. Since sports have been such a significant part of his life for such a long time, being able to talk about them and share his thoughts with the public is something he is truly passionate about. In the near future Ali would like to work for a major sports company, like ESPN or FOX Sports. He wants to be a radio or television host, and eventually have his own show. Ali also likes to make people laugh, and will also eventually take classes at the Second City, to develop his standup comedy and acting skills. Although he loves sports, acting and making people laugh has been something that enjoys doing as well.
